Broccoli Stew
bunch of broccoli or 16oz. frozen broccoli
1 ~ 1 & 1/4 tsp. salt or salt to taste
1/2 cup water
for grind:
1/2 cup shredded coconut
1/2 tsp. cumin seeds
2 whole dried red chili peppers
1/8 cup buttermilk
a little water
to thicken:
1/2 tsp. flour
1 tsp. water
If it's the fresh broccoli, wash, cut the think bottom stem and discard along with the leaves. If there are strings, take them out when you cut them into florets. The stems can also be cut and used.
If it's the frozen broccoli, just cook them.
Cook the broccoli with the salt in water.
While cooking the broccoli, blend the shredded coconut, cumin seeds, and dried red chili peppers with the buttermilk and a little water for about a minute or less.
When the broccoli is cooked, add the blended mixture and cook for a minute.
Mix the flour with water and add to the broccoli and mix well, and turn off the stove.
This can be eaten with rice or chappathi.
