Buttermilk and Pepper Sauce
1/2 tsp. vegetable oil
1/2 tsp. methi (fenugreek) seeds
1 tsp. mustard seeds
4 dried red chili peppers
salt to taste
1 cup buttermilk
Heat oil in a heavy sauce pan, and add fenugreek seeds.
When fenugreek seeds get brown, add mustard seeds.
When mustard seeds pop, add dried red chili pepper stir a little bit and turn off the heat.
Put the mixture in a small bowl, add salt and smash (*).
Add buttermilk and stir.
Note: Some people smash with a spoon, while others prefer their hands. If you use your hands remember to wash them well before touching something.
